The Gate of Onyx

Opened

After beginning reading the Libri of Aleister Crowley starting at the beginning of this year I had no intention of synchronizing Liber AL vel Legis with the days in which they were dictated to Crowley, but I found it quite interesting myself that they did. I have been reciting Liber ABA (Magick, Book 4) chapter by chapter and still have to finish Part 4. In making this a ritualistic endeavor for myself I have been triggering all manners of 'hidden' and 'occult' knowledge that I had hitherto been unaware of myself. The main reason I initially started this project was to fill in any gaps I had regarding the material I had and had not yet read by Crowley, and in the process even more has been revealed.

I included the three trilogies of the Typhonian Trilogy of trilogies by Kenneth Grant in order to stimulate the prostpective viewer into looking deeper into those tomes as they form the next installment in Thelemic advancement. This publication is also an extension from these as it analyzes much that was left by Grant, Achad and Crowley from a modern perspective with additional insights. The first three books, The Magical Revival (1972), Aleister Crowley and the Hidden God (1973), and Cults of the Shadow (1975) analyze the background of the Western Hermetic Tradition with a general focus on Thelemic and Egyptian themes and traditions, though many other strands are woven in, such as Tibetan sorcery, Voodoo, Zothyrian Gnosis, as well as Grant's first inquiries into Frater Achad's MA-ION/Aeon of Maat.

The second trilogy of the Trilogy are Nightside of Eden (1977), Outside the Circles of Time (1980), and Hecate's Fountain (1992). These books get much deeper into the Maatian perspectives of timeless-ness, trans-dimensional physics, and the Qabalistic connections thereof. The Nightside of Eden refers to the night- or dark-side of the Tree of Life, the 'Qliphoth' or 'Broken Shells' which relates to the 'dark', or 'anti-matter' of the materialist scientist who Grant relates to the Black Brothers who are magickally and mystically sterile and tend toward dispersion. Much discussion is made of Choronzon, the demon of dispersion, throughout this trilogy and the Key to getting beyond the GATEKEEPER of 333 is 333, i.e. the 3-DIMENSIONAL field of the #-Grid or AIQ BKR, or The Qabalah of Nine Chambers which is the Holonic Web of Space-Time-Spirit-Matter. When the 9 Emanations (Sephiroth) are aligned into One they become THE SEED (333) or Egg (0) from whence all Manifestation is born and returns, i.e. the Ma-Ion, or Seed/Egg of Manifestation.

For the third chapter of Liber AL I used both the third trilogy as well as all 9 which complete the Serpentine cycle of Initiation which symbolically awakens the Typhonian Dragon symbolized in the number 10, or completion. This chapter has many prophetic statements about the future of the Aeon of Horus wherein "Another Prophet shall arise and bring fresh fever from the skies". This refers to the bringing down of fire from 'heaven' to earth, i.e. the earthing of new knowledge from 'above the sun' ('There is nothing new under the sun'.) This can only be effected when the Solar center of Tiphareth has been attained in which trans-stellar data can be brought through the Prism of Daath and reflected through the lower paths and emanations into Material reality (Malkuth). The Gnosis obtained through the process of Initiation confers the Eye of the Dragon which is the ability to see through the material veils into the Astral and Etheric levels of reality, i.e. the 'occult' nature of Being. The advancements made in the Inner or Outer reflect upon one another as they are two sides of the same disk.
While the primary magickal ritual is and should be the Attainment of the Knowledge and Conversation with the Holy Guardian Angel (i.e. uniting with the Angel of Tiphareth, or the Augeiodes), the daily remembrance and strengthening of this connection is also imperative. This is the alignment and centering of the Body of Light in the mind (Yesod/whole Ruach) and body (Malkuth) and it's conscious circulation, as described in The Secret of the Golden Flower. The Qabalah of Nine Chambers is important here as it is the blueprint for the Astral Temple as well as Manifestation, therefore The Ritual if it is to be effective must be made not merely on the physical plane, but also in the subtle.
Outer Gateways (1994), Beyond the Mauve Zone (1996), and The Ninth Arch (2002) form a great expansion in the modalities and concepts examined in the previous books, as well as contain many of the source-works which they were drawn from, i.e. The Wisdom of S'lba, channeled by Grant beginning as far back as 1939; Liber Pennae Praenumbra, channeled by Soror Andahadna (Nema) in 1974; and Liber OKBISh-The Book of the Spider (29) channeled by various pythonnesses to Kenneth Grant from as far back as 1952 with the Nu-Isis Lodge. Grant says in the dustjacket to The Ninth Arch:
"For readers interested in significant relationships between Numerical (physical) and Magico-Mystical (metaphysical) concepts, The Ninth Arch contains an exhaustive thesaurus of the Typhonian Tradition. But beyond considerations of gematria, the Oracles of OKBISh adumbrate Events likely to overtake planet Earth within the lifetime of many of the book's readers; and - for individuals who are able to interpret the Oracles in terms relative to their own magical universe - they issue warnings of the dangers that lie ahead of those unprepared to invoke the Sign of Protection against the oncoming wave of Outer Forces set to assume control of the planet. Now, at the turn of a millennium, it seems appropriate to release this Knowledge.
